Technical Consultant

Although I have a Career in the Electronic Media field I am fortunate enough to be able to follow my passion in Motorsport as well. I am a National Technical Consultant to Karting in South Africa and due to this SAKRA approached me to Consult Technically to the Academy.

My first involvement was to evaluate the equipment available and confirm the chassis and engines to be used by the Junior and Senior Classes. I was also involved in formulating the Operational systems that SAKRA works to.

I am fortunate to be able to provide the Drivers training in the Rules and Regulations of Motorsport as well as providing the I.T. And Technical Support.

The enthusiasm of our Candidates is amazing and providing them all their own Email accounts and Internet access made me aware of how important providing a full package to the students is and how privileged we are to have such a super group of Students.

I keep an Eye on the Academy and Driver Technical operating costs to ensure that there is no Frivolous expense and that the candidates adhere to their Budgets.

I have set up a basic Website for the Academy and am about to embark on filling it out with all the Information on the Academy and Drivers.

It is very satisfying to see how the Driver candidates have bloomed both on the track and within themselves by taking part in the Academy and look forward to their progress into Main Circuit racing and the ultimate goal of Formula 1.

A similar system is currently being formulated for the Technical Students to join the Academy and I am looking forward to the challenge of Producing our first F1 Engineer.
